Lourdes Janeth Martinez

Lourdes is a passionate yoga practitioner and self care enthusiast. She began her journey early with an athletic mother; in high school she began yoga practice and dance education, continued in college and throughout her adulthood until today. She commenced a yoga journey meeting Hatha and Vinyasa styles, developing a strong discipline for mind-body practices. Her career in accounting and finance, a heavy sedentary lifestyle, soon led her to discover the Yoga Trapeze® to relieve her low back pain, here a new creativity for movement modalities arose. She was very motivated to deepen her personal practice and completed various teacher trainings: Yoga Trapeze®, 200 RYT, Yin, Breath Coaching and many more.

As a personal development specialist, she began coaching privately and later opened a yoga studio where she led students to adapt yoga’s basic range of movement into their body instead of pushing a body into idealized shapes. Anatomy, with a science-based approach is her teaching style, she is focused on developing a balance between strength and flexibility on and off the yoga mat.

My passion has always been to assist those who are open; to heal and increase their life-force energy and attain vibrant health through the ancient tradition of Qigong. I have been practicing yoga and energy work – Chin Shin Do for over 45 years and Medical Qigong for the last 21 years. I have studied Qigong with Master Chunyi Lin – International Qigong Master and creator of Spring Forest Qigong, Grandmaster Sifu Wong – Sholin Wahnam Institute of Kungfu and Qigong, and Bruce Frantzis – Taoist Lineage Master.

In general, all classes feature Qigong moves or forms that have the qualities of simplicity and depth. By simplicity, they are easy to follow and therefore suitable for all ages and physical conditions. With respect to depth, they will yield positive results (on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level) through daily practice. Over the years, I have seen that anything is possible, you only need the intention, courage, and persistence to begin, then maintain your practice.
